Alert # 1: Madison Township does have a part time township clerk, Deborah Willcox. The hours are limited to 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday. Ms. Willcox alternates Mondays and Fridays and she recommends that you call first to ensure she is in. You may contact the township at 419-589-9999. Alert # 2: The Madison Township trustees are looking for citizens to serve on the Zoning Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals. These positions meet in the evenings and do not require a great deal of time. However, these positions are very important as the decisions you make will have a direct impact on your community. Please address your request to serve to the Board of Madison Township Trustees, P.O. Box 2206, Mansfield, OH 44905. Madison Township is one of the eighteen townships of Richland County, or one of 1,308 Townships in Ohio. Townships are a political subdivision of the state. The officials that administer the townships are made up of three trustees and a fiscal officer, each elected to a four-year term. These elected officials fill their roles on a part-time basis. Madison Township is a part of the Mansfield Metropolitan Statistical Area. The 2010 census found 11,168 (a 23.9% decline since 2000) people living in the township.
