Alert # 1: Madison Township no longer has a township clerk. Therefore there are no office hours. If you need to contact the township please call 419-589-9999 and leave a message. A trustee will return your call. Alert # 2: The Madison Township trustees are looking for citizens to serve on the Zoning Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals. These positions meet in the evenings and do not require a great deal of time. However, these positions are very important as the decisions you make will have a direct impact on your community. Please address your request to serve to the Board of Madison Township Trustees, P.O. Box 2206, Mansfield, OH 44905. Special Notice: Madison Township was invited by Richland County Regional Solid Waste Management Authority to participate in an Earth Stewardship program. Residents of Madison Township can re-new their commitment to their community by scheduling a public roadside litter clean up or a public roadside litter recycling collection. The Trustees voted on April 2, 2012 to participate. If you are interested please contact Dan Fletcher at the township office, 419-589-9999. The details of the program can be found at this link: Township Solid Waste Letter. Madison Township is one of the eighteen townships of Richland County, or one of 1,308 Townships in Ohio. Townships are a political subdivision of the state. The officials that administer the townships are made up of three trustees and a fiscal officer, each elected to a four-year term. These elected officials fill their roles on a part-time basis. Madison Township is a part of the Mansfield Metropolitan Statistical Area. The 2010 census found 11,168 (a 23.9% decline since 2000) people living in the township. Information on the Fire, Zoning, or Road Departments can be found by selecting the "Services" tab on the left.
